ABOUT Angel Black
Qualified And Professional
Certified in 2017 at one of the world’s most prestigious and rigorous schools of hypnotherapy, the Hypnotherapy Academy of America in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I bring elite training and genuine passion to my work as a clinical medical support hypnotherapist. Hypnosis has long been more than an interest for me. It is a craft, a calling, and a powerful tool for change. I run a private general practice in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in the heart of Berkshire County, offering a professional, confidential, and results-focused environment where clients can explore healing, insight, and personal evolution with confidence. Medical support hypnotherapy is a complementary approach that works alongside conventional medical care to help reduce stress, manage symptoms, and support the mind–body connection during healing and recovery.
My practice serves clients with a wide range of concerns, goals, and curiosities, including past life, inter-life, and natal regression therapy. I see clients Monday through Saturday and offer both private one-on-one in-office sessions and structured, issue-specific programs designed for measurable progress. I work collaboratively with clients’ healthcare providers to support an integrative wellness model that bridges clinical care with holistic healing. This approach allows clients to feel fully supported on every level while investing in their well-being with clarity, intention, and care that is both strategic and deeply restorative

What is Hypnosis vs. Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a natural but altered state of mind which has numerous beneficial characteristics. These beneficial characteristics include an extraordinary quality of physical and mental relaxation, heightened suggestibility, and an emotionalized desire to satisfy these suggestions. By entering into a state of hypnosis anyone can communicate with and control their own conscious mind and subconscious mind. Think of your mind as a muscle. Hypnosis is your free weight set. By learning self hypnosis anyone can strengthen their mind, and use it’s power for positive change.
Hypnotherapists induce the hypnotic state in their client to increase motivation or alter behavior patterns through hypnosis. They consult with their client to determine the nature of the problem. They prepare their client to enter the hypnotic state by explaining how the hypnotic state works and what the client will experience. Hypnotherapists test their subjects to determine degrees of physical and emotional suggestibility. They induce hypnotic techniques of hypnosis based on interpretation of test results and analysis of client’s problem. They may train client in self hypnosis techniques.
Hypnotherapy refers to the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic tool. Hypnotherapy clients may participate in a series of sessions in which they enter into the hypnotic state in order to reach their goals.
Is Hypnotherapy safe?
Yes. Hypnotherapy refers to the use of hypnosis in a therapeutic context. Hypnosis is an altered state of mind that we all experience naturally without even noticing. When we lose track of time during a movie or day dream, we are experiencing hypnosis. We also pass through a hypnotic state at night as we fall asleep.
While I'm in hypnosis will the hypnotherapist be able to control me?
While in hypnosis you will remain fully in control. In fact in hypnosis people experience feeling more in control of themselves because their mind is focused, clear from distraction and they report being able to accomplish things they find difficult while not in hypnosis.
Nobody can force you to do or say anything that you don’t want you.

Is Hypnotherapy Alternative Medicine?
No, hypnotherapy is not alternative medicine. In recent years alternative health has been used as a term to describe many modalities and practices that aren’t available through our Dr’s office.
However, hypnotherapy is complementary to western medicine. While hypnotherapy can be used as part of a holistic treatment plan, it should not be mistaken for an alternative to western medicine.
